The teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, states, “Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children in the faith, prayer, and all the virtues. They have the duty to provide as far as possible for the physical and spiritual needs of their children” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2252).
“As those first responsible for the education of their children, parents have the right to choose a school for them which corresponds to their own convictions. This right is fundamental. As far as possible parents have the duty of choosing schools that will best help them in their task as Christian educators” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2229).
In light of the above statements, Corpus Christi Classical Academy takes its partnership with parents very seriously. In fact, our parents understand that “elementary education is an extension of parental education … In a true sense schools are extensions of the home (www.catholiceducation.org). This partnership can be seen in the way our students not only love the school but love to learn, in the involvement by parents of the students on all levels, and in the way God is blessing our efforts to assist parents in raising their children to be strong leaders intellectually, physically, morally and spiritually. This is evident in the high scores on standardized tests, the strength in competition, the service to the community, and the respect towards all that is sacred, including Mass, the sacraments and prayer.
We are so grateful for this community of loving, caring, responsible Catholic Christians. Our arms are open wide to welcome all who not only wish to be a part of our school but to contribute to this partnership as we move ahead with a supernatural vision and educate our students to be saints and citizens of heaven!
